February 2011: HOGESCHOOL INHOLLAND LEVERAGES HOLLAND9's ANDROID KNOWLEDGE.
Amsterdam – The Netherlands, February 2011. A full class of 25 students from Hogeschool Inholland Haarlem have successfully completed an online Holland9 Android introduction training. The training provided the students with an effective way of obtaining Android skills needed for their future careers.
The introduction course covered the basics of Android application development, from the simplest of applications to using Eclipse, manifest writing and API usage.
“The training was usefull and made certain things a lot more clear to the students, it was exactly what we were looking for and the students absorded it well.” said Tomas Van Rijsse, lecturer at Hogeschool Inholland.
The goal of the training was to give the students an introduction into the development proces of Android applications. The students were already skilled in ASP.NET and OO programming, but not as much in Java. Prior to the training the students received lessons in IDE and Java development."
Holland9’s CEO and founder, Jorik Bremer about the training: “ It is great to work with young and eager IT students and bring them up to speed on Android. We really focused on what is unique when developing for the mobile Android platform. We have used the latest Android Gingerbread and Honeycomb SDK to showcase the latest SDK versions.”
