November 2009: INTERNATIONAL CLASS OF STUDENTS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED FIRST ONLINE HOLLAND9 ANDROID TRAINING.
Amsterdam – The Netherlands, October 2009. An international class of students from the USA, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands have successfully completed a three day online Holland9 Android training. The training provided the students with a cost-effective way of obtaining Android skills needed for their respective jobs.
The training and certification program was designed for students and companies who want to be trained for less. While eliminating travel and venue costs students are still connected with Holland9 top knowledge instuctors and Android thought leaders.
" The demonstrations at the end of each presentation not only showed practical instances but also repeatedly accessing code brought an are of familiarity to an environment that was predominantly unfamiliar. " said a student from MetroStar Systems, a US company specialised in collaborative software solutions. " The materials were thorough with practical examples, to the point and clear."
The Android training program consists of four courses, each dealing with different topics ranging from Android beginners courses to complex hardware porting training. Upon completion of the training program, the participant receives a certificate for the knowledge gained.
" I felt I gained an overview to the Android platform and found the the insider tips, a programming pattern about how to save device memory, very helpful." said a student from Nationale Suisse, the Swiss National Insurance Company.
The beginners course covers the basics of Android application development, from the simplest of applications up through ones that use databases, telephony features, and integrated search capabilities. Students attending the advanced classes obtain a solid background in developing long-lived background processing services and proper low-level hardware techniques. The expert hardware course deals with customizing Android to different platforms (ARM/MIPS/X86 etc) with minimal changes on the platform related code.
Holland9's CEO and founder, Jorik Bremer explains Holland9's decision to develop the Online Android courses: "Android is evolving rapidly and is now an important topic for a very diverse set of organizations. Holland9 believes there's a clear need for training which recognises the many facets of the platform and different Android skills that individuals want to obtain. With our courses, we're further consolidating our provision of Android development and knowledge transfer".
